WHAT OUR MEMBERS ARE DOING

  • Owen Carr - London Marathon

In April I will be raising money for Versus Arthritis.

Millions of people wake up with arthritis every morning and face the day in pain, without the support and recognition they deserve. Arthritis attacks what it means to live and people with arthritis are often left to manage alone.

Versus Arthritis invests in breakthrough treatments, the best information and vital support for everyone affected by arthritis.

Your donation, big or small, can make a real difference by funding groundbreaking research, improving care, and empowering individuals to manage their condition.

I really appreciate your support! Thank you.

  • Max Hartley - London Marathon

I know I won't be able to change the current living crisis, nor will I be able to individually provide a roof for a homeless person. However, through this page and my efforts at the London marathon, I'd like to make somewhat of an impact!

I'm blessed to say that I have never been in a position of having no home to go back to at night. I'd say it's almost a privilege in today's current living crisis.

Having lived in the heart of London of the past year and a half, it brings a new light to the situations that so many are in. It's at times tough to see, especially during the colder months.

A generous donation to my page means so much to me but, if you don't feel like donating to me - I ask for you to give or just say hello to the next homeless person you see. You'd be surprised how human they are, just like you and I.

  • Max Bennett - London Marathon

    Hello everyone!

As anyone close to me will know, over the past couple of years i've quite enjoyed my running. From barely being able to complete a 5k run in 2020 to running almost daily by the end of the pandemic, i've found it great for not only my fitness but my all round wellbeing.

After successfully completing my first half marathon in December last year and with the push of a couple of friends, I have signed up to take part in my first Marathon this April, at The London Marathon 2024.

My chosen charity to support is Children with Cancer UK, for all of the amazing work they do for Children and families facing a much tougher journey than the 26.2 miles i'll take on.

All the money we raise will help fund lifesaving childhood cancer research, which would otherwise go unfunded, so i'm happy to be part of a great team making a difference.

    Thank you for the support!!

  • Archie Goodwin - Marathon des Sables

Archie embarked on an incredible journey to run the Marathon des Sables, an ultra-marathon in the unforgiving terrain of the Sahara Desert. But he wasn’t just doing it for the challenge—He’s doing it to make a difference.

With each step Archie took across the scorching sands, he was raising funds and awareness for James' Place Charity. Whose mission it is to stop men dying by suicide and believe death by suicide is preventable. Yet, in the UK suicide is still the single leading cause of death of men under 50. At James’ Place, they provide proven, professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future.

Let’s help Archie with our support to reach his fundraising goal and beyond to make a real impact.

  • Conor Harbison - London Marathon

Conor and his Citi colleagues chose Cancer Research UK as their London Charity Partner for 2023 and 2024.

They hope to raise at least £350,000 to support CRUK's work saving lives through research and bringing forward the day all cancers are cured.

The first £230,000 raised funded Sample Cam, a small device that can be swallowed to take pictures inside a person's bowel and take small samples of tissue, allowing doctors to detect the earliest signs of bowel cancer.

This year, they’re raising funds for Epic Dive, a trial to use blood tests to detect pancreatic cancer earlier.

  • David Voller - London Marathon

Less than a year after David’s ACL reconstruction he took on the London Marathon to raise money for Guide Dogs.

“My family and I actively support Guide Dogs as puppy raisers, and have for the last 8+ years now, witnessing first hand the incredible work they do.

I hope that you can support me in my challenge to run the gruelling 26.2 miles by donating whatever you can to support Guide Dogs in their challenge to improve the lives of those suffering from sight loss.”
