Faroe Islands

Explore the Untamed Beauty of the Faroe Islands with Manbility

Nestled between Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic, this Danish archipelago boasts unmatched natural beauty, featuring towering waterfalls, rugged mountains, and dramatic coastlines.

4th April - 12th APRIL

Spectacular Landscapes:

Islands of towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and emerald-green valleys, all surrounded by the dramatic North Atlantic Ocean. Hiking to iconic landmarks like the Drangarnir sea stack or taking in panoramic views from atop the archipelagos highest peak, Slættaratindur Mountain, with each day bringing a new other worldly adventure.

Rich Nordic Heritage:
Step into a world where ancient Viking traditions meet modern Scandinavian charm. From exploring the charming capital, Tórshavn, to staying in turf-roofed cottages, to climbing up old paths used by Vikings to remote settlements as well as learn about the Islands fascinating history.

Serenity and Solitude:
With only 50,000 residents across 18 islands, the Faroe Islands offer unparalleled peace and tranquillity. We will escape the ruckus of daily life and reconnect with ourselves and nature in a place where we’ll feel like we have the world to ourselves.

An Expedition for Everyone:
Whether you’re an avid hiker, a photography enthusiast, or simply someone seeking an unforgettable getaway, the Faroe Islands has it covered.

Unique Wildlife Encounters:
Home to millions of seabirds, including puffins, the Faroe Islands are a paradise for nature lovers. We may even spot seals basking on the shores or whales breaching offshore. It's a wildlife experience you'll find nowhere else.

Experience Highlights

Dive into Artic waters to explore the underwater kelp forests and seaweed gardens, speargun in hand.

Experience an afternoon of fishing in the deep inlets onboard a vintage Schooner, escorted by flocks of sea birds above and the fresh salty air.

Kalsoy Island, best known for its dramatic portrayal in the recent James Bond movie, No Time To Die. From here, hike inland to Kallur Lighthouse and Trøllanes, a blissfully remote village in the north of the island.

Hike through the natural wonders of Vagar Island, discovering epic waterfalls and with tales of the Viking Age and how Trælanípa earned its infamous name of slave cliff.

Dine at one of the Islands iconic restaurants, with menus reflecting the bounty from the surrounding waters, from local sea-urchins to langoustines and Greenlandic snow crab.

Staying in some of the most unique cottages on the islands while exploring and sharing stories together. Ending the trip in an exclusive hotel to help unwind and look back on the adventure we have just completed.

The expeditions are designed to be arduous as bonds and camaraderie and best formed through shared hardship. The hikes can be challenging and on uneven narrow tracks. Having said this, with teamwork all levels can complete the hikes and climbs. Throughout the trip there will be occasions for group work outs and stretch sessions. The trip focuses on hiking and some water elements so you should be comfortable with these activities.

    Isle of Wight (IOW)
The ice breaker weekend will involve group training sessions, running (all levels catered to) and swimming in the sea. The IOW weekender is to assess everyone’s fitness levels for us to cater the activities intensities on the Faroe Islands. This allows everyone to enjoy this once in a lifetime trip with fantastic memories.

  • Being an archipelago in the North Atlantic the weather can be hard to call.

In April the winter still hasn’t quite let go and snow can be common. The mountains will likely have snowy caps but expect rain showers rather than snow on the Heaths.

Average daytime temperature on the Heaths will usually stay above 0°C but can reach 10-12°C.

Up in the mountains it can be below 0°C so layers will be essential.

The wind is a near permanent feature so windproof layers will also be a must.

  • A kit list will be provided along with your trip confirmation.

  • The Faroe Islands are very safe, with one of the lowest crime rates in the world. The health risks involved in travelling the Faroe Islands are minimal. All tap water on the islands is potable and fresh.

The landscape can be untamed, and the weather can change instantly, with fog, wind or rain. We will have covered action plans for any eventuality within reason and have daily evening debriefs on conditions as well as contingency plans.

  • There are two currencies of equal value in the Faroe Islands: the Faroese Króna and the Danish Krone. Danish notes are equally acceptable as Faroese notes throughout the country.

Most places accept credit cards however most DO NOT accept American Express.

  • We strongly recommend obtaining both travel & medical insurance prior to joining our trips. If you choose not to, you acknowledge and accept our Terms and Conditions
